ISSF convenes a diverse group of stakeholders — NGOs, vessel owners, retailers, tuna processors and more — to make sustainability recommendations to tuna Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs).

Here are recent advocacy letters that have resulted from that collaborative work.

Description

The Skippers Workshop team has developed posters for purse-seine fishers. The posters show “best practices” for handling sharks, manta rays, and sea turtles that are incidentally caught. The posters are based on the best practices for bycatch-handling guidebook produced by Poisson et al. 2012.

This is a Chinese translation of a best-practices poster for purse-seine fishers used in ISSF Skippers Workshops. The poster is also available in English, French, Indonesian, Korean, and Spanish.
