ISSF prepared this position statement in July 2021 for consideration at the 98th session of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC), which will take place August 23-27, 2021. The statement covers topics in these categories: tuna conservation; fish aggregating devices (FAD) management; harvest strategies; monitoring, control, and surveillance; and bycatch and sharks.

The statement also includes ISSF’s top “asks” or requests of IATTC, along with a list of ISSF’s global priorities for all RFMOs.
