VOSI Auditing Process

Audits of vessels listed in the VOSI are carried out remotely and organized on two levels to ensure auditing goals are met.

All vessels on the VOSI will receive either a level 1 or level 2 audit on an annual basis.

All vessels applying to the VOSI undergo an initial Level 1 audit as part of the listing process.
Level 2 audits are conducted on an appropriate sample of vessels to assist in verifying information provided to show continued application of best practices and/or active participation in FIPs, MSC-Improvement Program fisheries, and/or MSC-certified fishery(ies).
