Vessels in Other Sustainability Initiatives (VOSI)

Like the ProActive Vessel Register (PVR), ISSF’s Vessels in Other Sustainability Initiatives (VOSI) is a transparency tool. The VOSI shows tuna vessels that have made public commitments to more sustainable fishing beyond the commitments reflected on the PVR.

The VOSI was created to assist seafood companies, retailers, the NGO community, and other stakeholders in sourcing sustainable tuna.

There is no fee for vessels to be registered on the VOSI, although some vessels may have costs associated with the annual auditing process.

We encourage eligible vessels to apply for listing on both the VOSI and PVR, which have separate application processes: See the VOSI Excel application form and PVR online application form. In most cases, PVR-listed vessels have already assembled and/or provided the majority of vessel information required for listing on VOSI.

ISSF does not make business partnership recommendations or vessel endorsements through the VOSI.
