Developed fishery
A “fully” developed fishery is a fishery that, following a period of rapid and steady increase of fishing pressure and catches, has reached its level of maximum average yearly production. It is usually understood that such a fishery is yielding close to its maximum sustainable yield.
A fishery operating at or near the level consistent with ecologically sustainable development in accordance with a management plan.
