United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (commonly called Law of the Sea)

An international agreement that resulted from 3rd United Nations Conference on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS III), which took place between 1973 and 1982, and which defines the rights and responsibilities of nations with respect to the use of the oceans of the world, establishing guidelines for the management of marine natural resources.
